Before the Weekend – Andrea Heading on REISA Revolution 2026

Peter Schravemade: G'day folks, it's Peter Schravemade from BeforeTheWeekend.com and, obviously, if you're watching or listening to our podcast, I'm joined by Andrea Heading all the way from the fantastic state of South Australia. Andrea, thanks so much for joining us today.

Andrea Heading: Thanks for having me, Peter. Great to be here.

Peter Schravemade: Andrea, you're the CEO of REISA, and you've got a pretty massive event coming up. Tell us about Revolution 2026.

Andrea Heading: Yeah, we're really excited. Revolution 2026 is on June 24 at the National Wine Centre in Adelaide. This year's theme is "Future Fit" and it's all about making sure our members and the wider industry are ready for what's coming. We've split the day into a sales stream and a property management stream so there's something tailored for everyone.

Peter Schravemade: And you've got Professor Toby Walsh keynoting, which is a big get.

Andrea Heading: We're thrilled to have Toby. He's one of the leading voices on AI globally, and he's going to talk about what artificial intelligence actually means for real estate over the next few years. Not the hype, the practical reality. That sets the tone for the whole day.

Peter Schravemade: And then in the evening you've got the networking drinks sponsored by Macquarie.

Andrea Heading: That's right. After the conference wraps, we head into the Macquarie networking drinks, which is always a highlight. Great chance for members to connect, swap notes, and unwind together at the Wine Centre. The food and wine, as you'd expect in Adelaide, is fantastic.

Peter Schravemade: And we've got Pete as one of our speakers too.

Andrea Heading: And we've got Pete as one of our speakers too.

Peter Schravemade: Yeah, they've definitely drawn the short straw with that one, but we'll roll with it. It'll be great to be there again, sample the fantastic wine and food, and explore ways we can continue to grow as a real estate industry together.

Andrea, what we'll also do is come back to you immediately afterwards and get your reflections on how the event went.

Andrea Heading: Sounds great. Thanks, Peter.

AI, Leadership and Why Real Estate Must Avoid Intellectual Laziness

5 Jun 2026 · 15 min

Ahead of her first visit to Australia for REIQ LIFT 2026, Peter Schravemade sits down with Miami-based REALTOR®, architect, technology pioneer and industry leader Ines Hegedus-Garcia. Ines shares her unique journey from architecture to real estate, explains why leadership starts with having "a seat at the table", and discusses the global challenges currently facing the profession. The conversation explores artificial intelligence, the future role of agents, and why leaders must resist what she calls "intellectual laziness" in an age of AI-generated content. Ines argues that authenticity, critical thinking and human judgement will become increasingly important as technology continues to evolve. She also offers a preview of what attendees can expect from her keynote at REIQ LIFT 2026 and discusses why Australia, the Great Barrier Reef and rugby are all on her must-see list. If you are interested in leadership, technology, innovation and the future of real estate, this is a conversation you will not want to miss.
